Vincent van Gogh was born in 1853 and lived till 1890.
In this painting of Wheat Field and Cypress Trees he walked out into the nearby countryside and painted. In the painting there is golden grain, the writhing olive tree, tumbling blue hills, ecstatic, cloud-filled sky. The way he painted it was how the world itself bends to his intense way of seeing. The colors are heightened and its forms are alive. Van Gogh's art is the story of Western art.
This is a painting by Claude Monet. It is called Fisherman's Cottage on the Cliffs at Varengeville. This is a very nice painting. The colors are clear and bright. The painting is like a persons image of someones view of vacation where there's a house on a cliff and a beach below.
In both paintings they are a picture of some kind of view. The van Gogh painting is a view on some kind of farm place and Monet's painting is on a view of a beach with a house. I like the color chosen to paint both paintings. Both paintings are similar in a way. Monet was like van Gogh because they both had problems selling their art work. Van Gogh though didnt live as long a Monet to see his art work be successful.
